Cafe Truva

Nestled at the Shore, Cafe Truva has become a real front-runner in Leith's rejuvenation of cafe culture. The terracota walls accommodate photos of old Leith next to traditional Turkish hangings. It is this confident blend of place and purpose that makes Truva such a winner. Friendly staff are genuinely proud of the food they serve and a smart view of the cobbled waterfront provides an inspiring backdrop for settling into the second sup of Columbian coffee or poring over the invitation menu. Owner Eddie Bayraktar has stuck to the successful formula of whatever you want on the menu at whatever time of the day, so feel free to pop in for a late breakfast or an early ciabatta. The freshly prepared snacks and mains are classic Turkish and Mediterranean, ranging from mezze platters and stuffed vine leaves to lamb moussaka. For those looking towards a healthier dish, the gratin (chicken, kofte, prawn or vegetarian) are something of a chef's special and you'll congratulate yourself on the decision as soon as the cheese-smothered dish is set in the table.
